Nokia 5.1 Plus price to be revealed today on Flipkart at 2pm

Those who are interested can pre-book the smartphone on Nokia.com now.

As announced earlier, HMD Global today launched the Nokia 5.1 Plus smartphone in India. A 2.5D glass covers both the front and back of the phone with glossy metal sides for a premium finish.

The smartphone will be available for purchase from Nokia Mobile Shop and Flipkart starting from October 01, 2018.

During the global launch event, the Nokia 5.1 Plus was introduced at a price 199 euros, which roughly translates to Rs 17,000. The phone has a 5.8-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen with a cutout for the notch to house the earpiece, selfie camera and other sensors. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 SoC with four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 400GB. The Nokia phone features 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage.

On the camera front, the Nokia 5.1 Plus comes with a 13-megapixel primary sensor, aided by a 5-megapixel secondary shooter and LED flash.

Ajey Mehta, Vice President and Country Head - India, HMD Global, said "With Nokia 5.1 Plus we wanted to bring a phone that was high on performance, that could get exciting gaming and entertainment experiences closer to a wider group of fans". For selfies and video calling, the handset sports an 8-megapixel snapper. The smartphone is part of the Google's Android One programme and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box operating system.

The phone will be available in two colors, Gloss Black and Gloss Midnight Blue. A 3,060mAh battery fuels the device. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port.

As part of the launch offers, Airtel users will be given Rs 1,800 cashback and up to 240GB free data.
