But late on Sunday night in Detroit, in the losing visitor's locker room, Rob Gronkowski stood at his locker and confirmed to reporters that Adam Schefter's report was right.

"Yeah, it happened", Gronkowski said. Part of the reason behind that threat from Gronkowski was that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was the only quarterback the already-legendary tight end wanted to catch passes from for the remainder of his National Football League career.

It sounds as if Gronkowski killed off the trade attempt with threats to retire and an unwillingness to work with those inside the Lions organization.

Darius Slay picked off Brady's pass at the Detroit 15 midway through the fourth quarter, helping the Lions seal the win. "I wasn't going anywhere without Brady".

That was a scenario the tight end wasn't a fan of.

"I think we saw a different offense today and we won".

Gronkowski led the Patriots with 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns previous year across 14 games. "People shouldn't be able to do that".

The Patriots have now lost two games in a row and are just 1-2 this season.

The Packers already got a taste of Mack, who was traded to the Chicago Bears the week before the season opener.
