Three Transatlantic Flights Held on Tarmac Because of Passenger Illnesses

An American Airlines Captain went above and beyond duty when the flight he was piloting was diverted and to ease his disgruntled passengers he bought 40 boxes of pizza.

The plane was safely diverted into the regional airport on Thursday night.

That's when when the plane's captain made a decision to order 40 boxes of Papa Johns and deliver it to passengers himself.

A Twitter video of the thoughtful moment shows the plane's captain, Jeff Raines, handing out the boxes to passengers lined up on the airport curb.

After their impromptu pizza party, the passengers were able to reboard Friday morning and continue on their journey to Dallas.

In a video of the event, the pilot can be seen going back and forth between the delivery auto and the passengers waiting outside the terminal.

A second part of the inquiry will focus on Masood, who briefly featured in security service investigations in 2009 and 2010. A one-minute silence was held at the beginning of the inquest in memory of the victims of the attack.

"What a guy, what a guy", people can be heard saying.

Raines, however, explained he could not have done it without his crew.

The pilot thanked everyone for their compliments but wrote on Facebook that it was a team effort.

'My First Officer was on the telephone with crew tracking / hotel desk arranging for our release and hotels for the entire crew.

According to CNN, the captain later extended credit to his crew members, who took care of other arrangements for the stranded passengers, including booking hotel rooms, re-booking flights and serving beverages. Thanks to everyone for your help - there is no "I" in "TEAM,"' he added. Initial reports suggested that as many as 100 passengers were sick, but that was later revised to 19 passengers and crew members in NY reporting feeling ill, while only 10 were hospitalized. We are fortunate that our crew members are the best in the business, ' an American Airlines spokesperson said to Dailymail.com.

The flight repotedly took off for Dallas/Fort-Worth Friday morning.
