I'd been scoring goals.

When asked if losing Ronaldo would hurt Los Blancos, Alves told Marca: 'I think that, contrary to what everybody else says, Madrid are more of a team without Cristiano, and now it's a little more hard than it was before - at least because of how I see football and my concept of this game'.

Following Cristiano Ronaldo's move away from Real Madrid over the summer, the La Liga giants have been left wondering how they would cope without their star talisman, especially since there was no replacement brought in.

Asked about his feelings in the moments before the goal, he said: "Angry - quite angry, to be honest".

Bale said he had made a decision to attempt the overhead after realising that Liverpool defenders would soon crowd him out. Inside Kiev's Olympic Stadium, Real Madrid's party was interrupted by a series of cryptic declarations from the men who had just won the tournament for a third straight time.

The Wales forward added: "I knew exactly where the ball went and you can see in the video my head turns to look exactly where the ball is going".

'Mistakes happen. It's just unfortunate it's in a final.

Recall that Messi earlier this month said that Juventus are clear favorites to win this season's Champions League now that they have Ronaldo.

"I think that, contrary to what everybody thinks, Madrid is more of a team without Cristiano", he told a Spanish sports daily. "It's maybe a bit more relaxed, yes".

The Real Madrid ace refused to rule out a return to the Premier League.

"But I'm enjoying playing for the biggest club in the world and winning trophies".
