Springboks beat All Blacks at home

The New Zealand All Blacks will face the Springboks for the Rugby Championship clash at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Saturday.

The Boks survived a late onslaught from the All Blacks‚ who tried to steal the match in the dying seconds‚ to win by two points and register their first win over the bitter rivals since 2009 and refresh their Rugby Championship hopes.

South Africa's win will catapult them up two place into fifth, with Australia set to drop the same amount of places down to seventh following their loss to Argentina.

At home their record is even more impressive.

And with a two extra minutes played, Damian McKenzie lost the ball in a tackle and the ball was booted into touch to seal a famous win with New Zealand left to reflect on Beauden Barrett managing only two conversions from six attempts.

A poor quickly taken line-out from Jordie Barrett then popped up kindly for Le Roux to add an easy try, and Malcolm Marx crashed over following a big drive.

The last action of the half was by Pollard who calmly converted a penalty as the Springboks went to the break leading 24-17.

Ioane registered his second try of the match with Beauden Barrett converting as NZ narrowed the gap to seven points with 30 minutes remaining on the clock.

The Boks came back stronger from the break as they further increased their lead to 14 points through substitute Cheslin Kolbe who touched down for his first global try after he came on for Lukhanyo Am.

The home side got off to a fast start, going ahead 12-0 after 15 minutes thanks to tries by fullback Jordie Barrett and scrumhalf Aaron Smith and a conversion by flyhalf Beauden Barrett.
