Not only did Black Panther break ground as a superhero movie from a black perspective with a black cast, but it has set a number of box office benchmarks on its way to grossing $1.34 billion worldwide - including becoming the highest grossing film by a black director.

The Hollywood Reporter announced Wednesday that LeBron James and his SpringHill Entertainment production company have landed Ryan Coogler to produce the second "Space Jam" installment.

James and longtime business partner Maverick Carter have been in talks to make a "Space Jam" film for more than five years, waiting for the right situation to come along, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. He also directed "Creed" and "Fruitvale Station", and is an executive producer on the upcoming "Creed II".

Missing from the word "Pacific", per the BBC: the letter "f", which prompted "no one gives an f" jokes online. Cathay Pacific's seen the amusing side after painters spelled its name wrong on one of the fleet's Boeings.

"The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie", said James. Jordan starred in the original "Space Jam" in 1996, alongside a number of other National Basketball Association stars of the era; the MonStars team featured Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing and Shawn Bradley. "And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people [with Black Panther]".

While the premise of the latest installment of "Space Jam" being discussed is not rooted in the original story, there have been discussions of involving Jordan, with his level of involvement still to be determined. Do your dance. Because it's Space Jam. Production on Space Jam is tentatively set to begin in 2019 in between National Basketball Association seasons.

Of course, James supplanting Jordan as the star of the new movie invariably adds to the debate over which of the two should be viewed as the greatest player of all-time.
