Storm response in Puerto Rico 'incredibly successful,' blames mayor for Hurricane Maria

The National Hurricane Center expects Isaac to weaken to a tropical storm by Friday and Saturday as it moves near or south of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

The GSA Administrator for Puerto Rico, Ottmar Chávez, said FEMA 'reported that it had an excess of bottled water in May 2018, before I became the agency's administrator'.

The ladies questioned whether Trump even cares about the body count in Puerto Rico, and whether - as Whoopi Goldberg put it - "he's living in a whole other realm of reality". Federal emergency officials acknowledge the water was sent in the immediate reponse to the hurricane and told CBS News they brought the water to the island and turned it over to the central government.

U.S. President Donald Trump is expressing confidence the federal government is prepared for this week's onslaught of Hurricane Florence, which is predicted to be one of the most powerful storms in almost three decades to slam into the mid-Atlantic region.

Photos taken by a photographer working for a Puerto Rican police agency showed what appeared to be thousands of boxes sitting on a runway half-covered with blue tarp.

FEMA did confirm to both CBS and ABC News that the agency had purchased the water and delivered it to the island's General Services Administration.

The president has consistently applauded the Maria response, even as the estimates of deaths in Puerto Rico caused by the storm have climbed from 64 to 2,975 people, making it the deadliest hurricane to hit America in more than a century.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Says He Could Beat Trump, Quickly Walks It Back
Chief Executive James Dimon sounded off on President Donald Trump at a bank event on Wednesday, saying he could prevail over Mr. Proves I wouldn't make a good politician. "I don't think the American public looks at Trump as part of the elite".

The federal response there was an "unsung success," said Trump on Tuesday, blaming the island's catastrophe on an electric grid and generating plant that "was dead before the storm ever hit".

The co-host - whose family was directly impacted by the Puerto Rico storm - gave Trump a verbal pummeling while talking about reports that the administration took $10 million away from FEMA (the Federal Emergency Management Agency) - and gave it to ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), noted Mediaite.

Shortly after Trump's comments, San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz shot back at the president.

While defending the handling of the previous storm, he urged caution in regards to the new one bearing down on North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

"We'll handle it, we're ready, we're able".

"The safety of American people is my absolute highest priority, " Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "We are totally prepared".

"They say it's about as big as they've seen coming to this country and certainly to the East Coast, as they've ever seen", Trump said in a video published to his Twitter account earlier in the day. North and SC and Virginia ordered mass evacuations along the coast.
