'The Romanoffs' Trailer: Amazon Anthology Things Everyone Is Russian

"You'd think that royal blood dilutes over time, but the poison survives", says Radha Mitchell's character in the new trailer for Matthew Weiner's forthcoming Amazon Prime anthology, The Romanoffs.

The series, which is comprised of eight standalone episodes, features characters all of whom believe they're a descendant of the famous Romanoff family, the majority of which was murdered during the Russian Revolution.

While the teaser focused on the series' stacked cast, the trailer sheds some light on its story. While some appreciate their royal connection, others have a more problematic relationship with their historical bloodline.

In January, Bezos also personally gave $33 million USA in college scholarships for young immigrants living in the U.S. illegally. Along with running Amazon the tech mogul owns space exploration company Blue Origin and the Washington Post newspaper.

The Romanoffs was shot in various exotic locations around the world that include Europe, the Americas, and the Far East; all the while using local production and creative talent.

The first episode titled "The Violet Hour' stars Marthe Keller, Aaron Eckhart, Ines Melab and Louise Bourgoin and the second story, "The Royal We", starring Stoll, Bishe, Janet Montgomery and Noah Wyle". The Romanoffs premieres on Amazon Prime on October 12th. Then, new episodes will be released weekly. Turns out it's more than you might think, and for his show to follow Mad Men, Matthew Weiner has made a decision to create a sprawling anthology drama comedy to follow various stories of people who make that claim.

Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, Amanda Peet, Aaron Eckhart, Corey Stoll, Kerry Bishe, Isabelle Huppert, Paul Reiser, Diane Lane, Andrew Rannells, Kathryn Hahn, Hugh Skinner, Jay R. Ferguson and more star in the series.
