Trump performs his best material, but fails on Kavanaugh

The Senate Judiciary Committee is questioning Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh after an anonymous letter was sent to Sen.

Fox News Chief White House correspondent John Roberts tweeted that he received a statement from Kavanaugh who said Swetnick's allegations are "ridiculous and from the Twighlight Zone".

Brett Kavanaugh was under investigation by the Senate over a fourth allegation this week, this one of physical assault, NBC News reported on Wednesday.

His views on sexual assault are say the least. The author provided no names.

According to Ford, she was friends with one of Kavanaugh's classmates, which resulted in them being at numerous parties together.

Ford said that moments earlier, Kavanaugh had shoved her into the bedroom, jumped on her and began grinding on her leg while his pal Mark Judge cheered him on.

"I never met them", he said.

With high drama in the making, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh emphatically fended off new accusations of sexual misconduct ahead of a charged public Senate hearing that could determine whether Republicans can salvage his nomination and enshrine a high court conservative majority.

Chinese officials consequently canceled upcoming trade talks between the two countries, as reported by The Wall Street Journal . He said he can't disclose the evidence, but that it will come out, adding that his allegation did not come "out of nowhere".

"No, and we're dealing with an anonymous letter about an anonymous person and an anonymous friend", Kavanaugh said. "We will see", Trump said. "These shameful attacks must end". He said he'd once defended a young German girl who had been gang raped and succeeded in getting a 20-year prison sentence for one of the perpetrators. Kavanaugh said he doesn't know Swetnick and "this never happened".

Mr Avenatti is also representing Stormy Daniels, the porn star who signed a hush agreement over an affair with Trump. But after more allegations have emerged, some GOP senators have allowed that much is riding on Kavanaugh's performance.

"It's not going to change any of the Democrats' minds".

"If I thought he was guilty of something like this, yes, sure", Mr Trump said at a press conference on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in NY.

If Brett Kavanaugh is denied a seat on the Supreme Court because of a crime never proven, but nonetheless chiseled in stone by Trump's political opponents, an appalling new precedent will have been set in motion and our entire political system will, henceforth, be at the mercy of progressive mob justice.

Hanging in the balance is Mr Trump's chance to swing the high court more firmly to the right for a generation. "I think that is a very unsafe standard for our country". "They didn't know anything", he said, apparently referring to the first accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, who says Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were both in high school. "I believe I was drugged using Quaaludes (a sedative) or something similar placed in what I was drinking", she said.

Asked by Acosta why he has stood by so many men who have been accused of sexual misconduct, rather than woman accusers, Trump said, "I've known them for a long time, a lot of these people". "I could be persuaded".

It is still uncertain whether Ford will actually appear before the panel. As of Wednesday, her lawyers were still trying to make demands about the terms of her testimony.
