In terms of value, the Samsung Galaxy S9 appears to win out against Apple's latest offering.

Samsung and other device makers are looking for ways to boost momentum in a sluggish smartphone market.

What does Samsung have in store?

Starting from today, 14th of September 2018 till 2nd December 2018, just top up RM100 upon your purchase of the Samsung Galaxy Note9 and you are entitled to buy the next year's model at 10% discount.

Samsung could be hinting at either 4x zoom or 4 cameras here.

So maybe Samsung's mysterious invite is referring to a plethora of cameras, or maybe not. Of course, we're talking about mid-range Samsung smartphones, which usually don't get confirmed for major Android OS updates. On Thursday 11 October, Samsung will reveal a new Galaxy device (singular) which offers "4x fun", headlines the invite graphic. As for what type of phone Samsung might be unveiling, that's up in the air too. Ice Universe had also asserted that the upcoming Galaxy phone won't be called the Galaxy S10 or the long-rumoured Galaxy F.

Even though such a camera setup is something of a novelty right now, the news does not come as a surprise as past rumours had already pointed out that a manufacturer, which isn't Huawei, is preparing a smartphone with four cameras on the back.

Flagship or not, we'll know more about the mysterious device when the live streamed event begins on October 11th.
