The nine-metre (29ft) inflatable is a response to the Donald Trump baby balloon that Khan permitted in July, with the campaign organiser Yanny Bruere describing himself as a free-speech advocate.

A small group of supporters watched the inflatable take to the skies, and the crowd cheered and shouted, "higher, higher, higher" as the balloon was launched.

"In light of the "Baby Trump" balloon being allowed to fly over London during his visit to the United Kingdom, let's get a "Baby Khan" one and see if free speech applies to all and whether or not Mr Khan and the London assembly will also approve this", Bruere said, on the Crowdfunder page he set up to raise money for the blimp.

White underpants and masks with a caricature of the mayor's face on were also being given out.

"I don't really think yellow's my colour though". "He has done a bad job", Trump said in an interview with The Sun in July.

Fox News and Russia Today covered the campaign, as did conspiracy site InfoWars and Tommy Robinson's former employers The Rebel Media. Others at the launch had "Trump 2020" T-shirts and banners in support of the American president.

The protest was planned in Westminster to highlight the capital's rise in violent crime recently and in a campaign to remove the Mayor from his post.

The United States relented on its demand for an automatic expiration for the deal, known as a "sunset clause". She was scheduled to meet later Tuesday with her Mexican counterpart, Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo.

"We have seen triple figures in deaths already since January".

Organisers chose the yellow bikini because Khan ruled in 2016 London's transport network would not allow adverts which could create body confidence issues following controversy over a protein shake poster featuring a model in a yellow bikini asking "are you beach body ready?"

"I think it's very amusing", said Gavin Leonard, a spectator from east London.

The humour of Sadiq Khan having to approve a giant blimp of himself, that was another angle to it, I thought that would be quite amusing.

Augustine Chukwuma Obodo, 50, founder of Friends of Trump UK, said: "This reaffirms everything that Trump has been saying - this city has fallen to the liberals and has insecurity, killings and maiming".

Trump has blasted Khan on a number of occasions.

"And when he speaks they say he's a racist, I don't know why Trump is a racist - he speaks only truth".
