Zoe Kravitz to Lead Disney’s High Fidelity TV Series

She is primarily known for her film work, having appeared in projects like "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", "Mad Max: Fury Road", the "Divergent" films, and "Dope".

Writers Veronica West (Ugly Betty) and Sarah Kucserka (Chicago Fire) created the series and will executive produce alongside Kravitz, Josh Appelbaum (Alias), André Nemec (Zoo), and Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, who co-wrote the 2000 film's screenplay as inspired by Nick Hornby's book.

Getting a leg up: Zoe Kravitz, 29, has been cast as the lead of the forthcoming High Fidelity TV series, reported The Hollywood Reporter on Monday. Kravitz will reprise John Cusack's role as a music junkie record store owner who's obsessed with pop culture trivia and minutiae. It's a bit of a full-circle moment for her as her mom, Lisa Bonet, played Cusack's girlfriend in the movie.

Kravitz most recently starred in the critically-acclaimed HBO series "Big Little Lies" and will appear in its upcoming second season. Last February, Disney CEO Bob Iger the service will be priced "substantially below" the $10.99 that Netflix charges monthly, "because we'll have substantially less volume".

The unnamed direct-to-consumer streaming service will launch in late 2019 and feature a mix of original and library content from Disney's feature film, TV group, Pixar Animation, Marvel Entertainment, and Lucasfilm.

Already announced to be headed to the service are all-new original series continuing the Monsters, Inc.
