In the case of De Jong, the midfielder will do whatever he can to earn himself a move to Catalonia, and if only one of the two can move, De Jong wants it to be himself rather than De Ligt.

Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt has delivered a huge blow to Barcelona and Manchester City's hopes of signing him in the near future by insisting he is happy at the club.

El Mundo Deportivo and Diario Sport reported this week that the club would move for De Ligt, but Overmars said the player, watched by Barca's Ramon Planes as Netherlands beat Germany 3-0 on Saturday, will not go.

Narasimhan said that transaction prompted Novartis to expand relationships with US and European nuclear medicine centers. It also announced on Thursday the $2.1 billion acquisition of US biopharmaceutical company Endocyte .

And, according to Italian daily the Corriere di Torino, Ajax are at present refusing to sell De Ligt as they look to bring about an auction for his signature.

De Ligt's in-demand team-mate Frenkie de Jong has also ruled out leaving the club anytime soon and will make a decision about his future at the end of the season amid interest from Barcelona and Tottenham. However, it is believed that they have made the defender a priority after encountering some fitness problems at the back, with injuries to Thomas Vermaelen, Samuel Umtiti and Sergi Roberto.

There has been much talk about de Ligt, especially given that the Catalan club only have Gerard Pique as a right-footed centre-back in their ranks.
