Every Mac Mini now comes with 4 cores, as well as new 6 core variants. It comes with quad- and 6-core 8th-generation Intel Core processors with Turbo Boost Speeds up to 4.6GHz and Intel UHD graphics.

You can also string multiple Mac Minis together for even faster processing, even use them as the basis for a server centre. Unlike the new MacBook Air, the new Mac Mini comes with various connectivity options including Thunderbolt 3, Ethernet, HDMI, USB-A, audio port and more.

Apple announced a new Mac mini desktop at its event today, detailing an updated model that packs more performance and features into the same chassis size. Again the Apple T2 Security Chip makes an appearance to provide a "secure enclave", always-on Siri ready to respond, and on-the-fly data encryption - and again we have Touch ID integration. With the ports, the Mac mini supports up to 4K and 5K Thunderbolt displays.

Configurations start from Intel's 8th Generation quad-core Core i3 processors and go up to six-core Core i7 chips running at 3.2 GHz/4.6 GHz.
