McMurray was standing on the wing of a flying Cessna and, as he moved farther out on the wing, his weight sent the plane into a spin. James tried to hold on, but eventually had to let go and by then it was too late to use his parachute. He died on impact.

He had been working on the project for months, said Desrochers.

"[Jon] touched and lifted so many people in his brief stay here". A GoFundMe page has also been established to assist with funeral expenses and continue the release of his work.

A friend of the rapper told The Vancouver Star: "He planned for everything.

Jon James McMurray, my very best, dearest and oldest friend passed yesterday evening in a skydive accident", his friend and professional skier Rory Bushfield wrote in an Instagram post.

In the video posted to his Instagram on October 2, McMurray and friends are seen base-jumping off the Stawamus Chief, travelling to the Squamish Valley and then skydiving, and enjoying a river waterski.

McMurray's team released a song of his on Monday as a final farewell.

The rapper fell to his death in British Columbia, Canada, as he was rapping while walking on the wing of a plane, according to CTV News Vancouver.

His management said he had "trained intensely" for the stunt however the pilot couldn't immediately correct the downwards projection.

Sources close to the rapper explained, "Jon was really a good person and he would want to be remembered as someone who promoted each and every individual to pursue their dreams". They added, "He filled everyone around him with positivity, and never spoke poorly about another person".
