Cardi B hands out free winter coats in New York

Rapper Cardi B has handed out free winter coats to people at a public housing complex in NY.

The Bronx-born star stopped by the Marlboro Houses in Gravesend, where she was presented with a key to the complex and a birthday cake.

A large crowd showed up, much to Cardi's surprise. Check out her video upload to Instagram below that sees the crowd going wild for the rapper.

After handing out frocks to children in the community center, the rapper moved to a Boost Mobile store across the street to continue giving out coats, to adults too.

Drake , who recently got nominated in the upcoming 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards, said that he "wanted" such idea "at one time". During the interview, Rihanna also shared that she was looking forward to becoming a mother one day.

"I can't wait to [do] this in my borough next BX", she added in the caption.

Dozens of kids rushed into the Marlboro Houses community center to snap pictures with Cardi B and grab a leather or fur coat and sneakers.

For her part, Cardi looked like she was her typical, energetic self at the coat giveaway.

The event was organised by a local designer and friends of the 26-year-old star to help people in the community as winter approaches. "I didn't know it was gonna be so big", she told WABC.
