Chelsea striker Morata: I thought everyone was against me - including the wife!

Chelsea have reportedly lost patience with Alvaro Morata, and will now move for a new striker at the start of 2019.

Chelsea are set to cut their losses on Spanish global striker Alvaro Morata in the January transfer window.

Morata says he sometimes struggles to deal with his emotions while playing for Chelsea, and was upset during the second half of the season.

And Morata, who earned a recall to the Spain squad during the global break, lifted the lid on his struggles both on and off the pitch over the past 12 months. "It was very hard for me", Morata told Spanish newspaper El Mundo, as quoted by the Daily Express.

With Eden Hazard in exceptional form, but regularly linked with a move to Real Madrid, the club do not want to put too much pressure on him to provide goals, nor do they want to be over-reliant on the Belgian should he leave at the end of the season. I am happy when I am outside the pitch.

"I wasn't depressed but I didn't live my situation very well". I love the fans - I think the fans love me!

Morata won the FA Cup in his first season at Chelsea FC after the Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United at Wembley back in May.

Morata scored 15 goals in 48 appearances for the west London outfit last season and has found the net only three times in seven outings so far this term.

The 27-year-forward has been at Chelsea since 2012 and has made a huge impact at Stamford Bridge, helping the club to several trophies, including a pair of Premier League titles.
