Watch The Trailer For Coldplay's Career-Spanning Documentary 'A Head Full Of Dreams'

A Head Full of Dreams tracks the band's ascent over the last 20 years, culminating with their most recent studio album - which shares its name with the film.

The film is helmed by Mat Whitecross - director of Supersonic, the acclaimed 2016 Oasis documentary - who met the four friends at college in London, before they'd even formed the band.

Amazon Prime Video, meanwhile, will have A Head Full Of Dreams available for streaming from Friday 16 November.

Coldplay trace their charmingly nerdy beginnings, creative struggles and rise to pop superstardom in the first trailer for their upcoming band documentary A Head Full of Dreams. The trailer includes an intriguingly heavy dose of early, pre-success VHS footage of the band, looking scraggly and way more ne'er-do-wellish than the neon-colored, well-kept Coldplay we know and kind of hate these days.

Whitecross has since directed numerous band's most iconic videos (including Paradise, A Sky Full Of Stars and Adventure Of A Lifetime) and continued to document the band's musical and personal evolution. He has directed several of their iconic music videos, the likes of "Paradise", "A Sky Full Of Stars", and "Adventures Of A Lifetime". "[We're] gonna go on to be such a huge band", singer Chris Martin, decked out in braces, enthuses into a camcorder.

Much of the filming took place during Coldplay's record-breaking A Head Full Of Dreams Tour, which was certified as the third biggest tour of all time, playing to more than 5.5 million fans across the world. NME reports that Coldplay will also unveil three new live recordings including their cover of The Bee Gees "Stayin' Alive".
