Several observers in Russian Federation have described the attack in Crimea as "Russia's Columbine", drawing parallels to the 1999 Columbine High School shooting in the United States, which killed 13. The shooter, who committed suicide afterward, apparently was not included in that number. Roslyakov had obtained his gun license only around two months ago, local officials said.

A deadly blast that ripped through a college in Russia-annexed Crimea on Wednesday is being investigated as a possible terror attack, the Kremlin said.

A few hours later the Investigative Committee said the victims were killed by gunshots.

Teenagers and staff were among the dead, the teacher added, and at least 50 people were injured in the attack.

The alleged perpetrator was 18-year-old College student Vladislav Roslyakov.

But a Russian national guard official said the incident was a deliberate "terrorist act".

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was at a signing ceremony with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi in Sochi, was originally told the fatalities were caused by an explosion.

He promised that the government will do everything necessary to help those wounded.

Attacks by disaffected teenagers at their schools and colleges have hit the headlines recently in Russian Federation.

He also predicts that "within the next hundred years we will be able to travel to anywhere in the Solar System". I can safely say that their future will depend more on science and technology than any previous generation".

"He would say that he lost trust in people when his classmates began humiliating him for not being like everyone else", a 15-year-old named as Zlata told RT television of Vladislav Roslyakov.

Vadim Vlasyuk, 18, who escaped the attack, said he was unsure if he would be able to return to the college.

Kerch is linked to the Russian mainland by a bridge opened by Putin in May.

A 20th person died Thursday as a result of a mass shooting and explosion at a school in Crimea, said authorities, who are working to determine whether the student suspect plotted the attack alone. He didn't name the man, saying only that he was a local resident. But surveillance video soon circulated on social media purporting to show Roslyakov with a gun slung over his shoulder walking through the school, and several students described the horrifying sounds of gunfire echoing through the halls.

According to some Russian news reports, the attacker had left his backpack containing the explosives in the cafeteria and remotely detonated it before he went on the rampage with the legally obtained shotgun.

The head of a Crimean college said unknown gunmen had burst into the building, let off explosives, and started shooting anyone they saw.

"This is a awful tragedy for Kerch, for such a small city", said Galina Pesklyonova, 62. To date, identified the bodies of all the victims.

Amid such tensions, immediately after the college attack, numerous Russian officials suggested Ukraine could be implicated. He did not elaborate. "I saw people without legs, without arms".

Dozens of injured remained hospitalized in Kerch and the first of the dead was to be buried Thursday. Many others had wounds from an improvised explosive device that went off packed with shrapnel. Hundreds of others were wounded.

"He was walking around and shooting students and teachers in cold blood", said Sergei Aksyonov, the regional leader in Crimea.
