Director of IT to Helm Live Action Adaptation of Attack on Titan

Harry Potter producer David Heyman jumped aboard the effort to make a new film adaptation of Attack On Titan in January of a year ago and now they've locked down a director in It's Andy Muschietti. Muschietti will direct a feature adaptation of Attack on Titan for Warner Bros. after studio finalized a deal with publishing company Kodansha on Monday.

Variety reports that Andy "so hot right now" Muschietti is the chosen director.

Despite its constant frustration with making a live-action movie out of Akira, Warner still looking to turn other Manga and anime properties into projects.

Written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, Attack on Titan is a best-selling manga series with over 76 million copies in print since its debut in 2009. Set in a world overrun by giant, man-eating creatures known as Titans, the series follows humanity's fight for survival within the walled cities of this new world. Harry Potter's David Heyman is on board to work his producing magic once again, alongside Masi Oka and Muschietti's sister, Barbara Muschietti. Part 2 underperformed, however, giving both parts an overall take of $46 million. Are you one of them?
