David Price is still looking for his first postseason win as a starter. It was Cole. "Early I thought he was a little over-amped", said Hinch.

The grim news, he's still saving them.

Price didn't have the outing he would have liked, but he certainly enjoys the end result.

On Sunday, Mookie Betts gave David Price the best gift he could have imagined: a night off from the narrative.

When Bradley came up with the bases loaded and two outs in the third, the Red Sox trailed 4-2 and, per basic win expectancy, had just a 36.9 percent of winning Game 2. I deserve those narratives. But this is bigger than David Price.

The series, however, is far from over and the Astros have managed to wrestle home field advantage away from the Red Sox with the game one victory. Price was removed after 4 2/3 innings on the mound while Cole lasted six.

The Red Sox opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning, with Andrew Benintendi and Rafael Devers hitting RBI singles off of a shaky Gerrit Cole.

Despite the loss in game two, the Astros have put themselves in the driver's seat and have the chance to close out the series at home this week. Admittedly not at his sharpest, Price only had one clean inning but said the key was limiting the damage.

You know about Price's postseason reputation. If this series goes to a sixth game, the Price will be lined up for one more shot at playoff redemption.

But rather than hearing boos rain down from the Fenway Faithful, Price was given a standing ovation as he walked off the mound.

Kudlow defends Mnuchin's Saudi Arabia trip amid search for missing journalist
President Trump warned the U.S. would inflict " severe punishment " if Saudi Arabia was behind his disappearance. CEO of JP Morgan Jamie Dimon announced this morning that he'll also be pulling out of the conference.

"It was definitely appreciated", Price said. But our offense, our defense - we rallied together. "I think everybody is going to enjoy themselves and we're going to just keep continuing to take it one game at a time".

With some sloppy work from the battery to ignite it, the Astros found out just how explosive in the seventh when Betts added an insurance run.

After drawing a lead off walk, Betts advanced to second on a Lance McCullers Jr. wild pitch. Coming into Game 2, the Astros in the 2018 postseason had outscored their opponents 18-1 (!) from the seventh inning onward.

His statistics do not account for the times his managers left him in as he clearly exhausted, or for his two-run complete game in the '13 Game 163 tiebreaker that sent his Rays to the playoffs, or for his 2.35 ERA in 15 1/3 postseason relief innings, but they tell a story, and Price knows what it is.

It was the 14th consecutive post-season game that the World Series champs hit at least one out of the park, an all-time Major League Baseball playoff record. The streak dates back to Game 6 of last year's ALCS, includes all seven games of the World series and each of the Astros five playoff games so far this October. As the Houston right fielder chased a long, loud fly ball by the Red Sox. That one swing jump-started what was a 7-5 victory at Fenway Park, one that gave renewed hope to the sellout crowd of 37,960 fans on hand.

Sale, who was off with his command and his velocity, was expected to remain at the hospital overnight for observation. Game 3 is slated for a 5:09 PM ET start on Tuesday.

"They did an outstanding job and they've done it throughout the postseason", Cora said of the bullpen.

"Seems like now he understands who he is as a hitter", Red Sox manager Alex Cora said.

That, he insisted, is all he ever cared about. The biggest offensive burst for the Sox was Jackie Bradley's three-run double in the third, just the 10th such play in ACS history ... Not getting the "W" Price unwittingly made some dubious post season history.
