All other signup systems are working.

A hack was detected earlier this month in a government computer system that works alongside HealthCare.gov, exposing the personal information of approximately 75,000 people, according to the agency in charge of the portal. It throws into turmoil one aspect of the ACA's insurance signup process less than two weeks before the start of the annual enrollment period for coverage created by the 2010 health-care law.

The Federally Facilitated Exchange's Direct Enrollment pathway, which is used by agents and brokers to help customers enroll in health insurance, was compromised between October 13 and 16, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services confirmed on Friday.

Tories tell Theresa May to 'bring her own noose' to meeting
May's backstop counterproposal is for the United Kingdom as a whole to stay in a customs union with the EU. The PM was also told to " bring her own noose " to a meeting later this week.

"The agent and broker accounts that were associated with the anomalous activity were deactivated, and - out of an abundance of caution - the Direct Enrollment pathway for agents and brokers was disabled", the CMS said in a press release. "It is important to note that CMS is in the beginning stages of the assessment of this breach".

It is not clear how the breach occurred or what data was stolen but CMS said the Healthcare.gov website was unaffected. In the meantime, his administration has made efforts to weaken parts of the law. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is said to be investigating the matter.

Verma added that officials were working to identify the people who had been impacted by the breach "as quickly as possible" so that they can receive "resources such as credit protection".
