Infant Corpses Found Hidden in Detroit Funeral Home

Brian Bowser says the babies' bodies were found in a hidden false ceiling between the first and second floors during Friday's search of the former Cantrell Funeral Home.

It is understood the funeral home had been closed six months ago and is in the process of being converted into a community centre. "They were in a cardboard box stuffed away from a stairwell".

This comes after MI inspectors reportedly shut down Cantrell Funeral Home in April after discovering the funeral home had several violations "including decomposing remains and deplorable conditions". According to inspectors numerous bodies had been decomposing for months.

Bowser said they have names of some of the deceased infants and the medical examiner will conduct an investigation.

"It's just the callousness of the perpetrators - the owner, the employees of the funeral home". When police arrived they opened them and found the remains.

Mohamed Salah injured in Egypt win
Egypt prevailed over eSwatini thanks to the goals of Ahmed Elmohamady, Amr Warda, Mahmoud Trezeguet and Mohamed Salah . Salah limped off with what looked like a hamstring injury after scoring a sensational goal direct from a corner.

The Detroit Police Department will continue to investigate the discovery Friday and had cadaver dogs searching the property, Bowser said.

Raymond Cantrell, the former owner of the funeral home, spoke to Local 4 on the phone.

Correction: An earlier version of this story cited local news reports that incorrectly said construction workers, rather than state inspectors, discovered the infant bodies.

LARA shut down Cantrell Funeral Home in April for multiple violations including the improper storage of embalmed bodies, two of which were in an advanced stage of decomposition.

"If I had them in the funeral home then my funeral home wouldn't smell fresh ... so yes they are embalmed and serviced we put them in the garage", Cantrell said at the time. That suspension order remains in effect as does our investigation.
