The four-time NBA All-Star was ejected from the bench late in the first quarter Friday as his Golden State Warriors battled the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

DeMarcus Cousins is known for having some disagreements with National Basketball Association officials, but those differences are usually caused when he is on the floor. According to ESPN's Marc J. Spears, Cousins and Kanter were "talking trash" before the game. Cousins then apparently directed his talking to Foster. Asked if the ejection was because of what Cousins said, Foster replied: "More so the way of which he stated what he stated".

"He said [the ejection] was because he had already warned him and then he kept going at Scott, I guess, so I'll talk to him about it".

But the big man got involved some controversy was ejected against the Knicks after rowing with the referee Scott Foster from the bench and he received a technical. Cousins and Kanter did not oblige.

"I did check with Scott [Foster]", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the game. "So I'll talk to him about it, I've got to hear it from DeMarcus what happened and we'll talk it out".
