Hillary Clinton grilled about husband’s White House sex scandal. Watch how she responds

The former first lady also revealed that she did not think her husband had any reason to resign after his affair with Monica Lewinsky, who was a White House intern at the time.

Her answer was telling.

Hillary Clinton said the incident could not be considered "abuse of power" as Lewinsky, 22 years old at the time, was an "adult". She simply says, "No, no".

"There are people who look at the incidents of the '90s and they say, 'A president of the United States can not have a consensual relationship with an intern; the power imbalance is too great, '" said Mr. Dokoupil, at which point Mrs. Clinton interjected, "who was an adult".

Hillary Clinton's response: That Lewinsky was an adult.

Clinton was asked if, in retrospect, her husband should have resigned in the wake of the scandal, to which Clinton replied, "absolutely not".

Saudi Arabia denies allegations regarding murder of Khashoggi: interior minister
The US president issued his firmest statement yet over the disappearance of Washington Post contributor Jamal Khashoggi . There has been no official reaction in the Arab world to the possible murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey.

Later in the interview, Clinton turned the tables and used it as an opportunity to bash President Trump. Hillary Clinton told CBS on Sunday that she believes the investigation "came out in the right place".

"But let me ask you this: where's the investigation into the current incumbent, against whom numerous allegations have been made and which he dismisses, denies, and ridicules", Clinton said.

Following the peak of #MeToo movement, several women, including Monica Lewinsky, accused President Bill Clinton of sexual misconduct, with Lewinsky herself referring to the affair as a "gross abuse of power".

Clinton then brought up President Donald Trump - against whom she ran in the 2016 election.

The Clintons are about to embark on a joint speaking tour that could prompt questions about what the Clintons went through, Bill's 1998 impeachment and allegations of sexual harassment. Hillary Clinton told CBS that she played no role in criticizing the character of her husband's accusers.
