Marvel’s ‘Iron Fist’ Won’t Return for Season 3 on Netflix

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, the streaming giant confirmed that "Marvel's Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix".

A little over a month after season 2 of Marvel's Iron Fist debuted on September 7, it seems as though fans will not get another season on Netflix. "While the series on Netflix has ended, the Immortal Iron Fist will live on", reps for Netflix and Marvel told IGN. Despite its premiere being the most binge-watched drama on Netflix in 2017, critics panned the show's first season as lacking originality and spark. But it apparently wasn't enough to convince Netflix to order another season.

Based on the "Iron Fist" comics, the show followed Danny Rand, a young man bestowed with incredible martial arts skills and a mystical force known as the Iron Fist, when he returned to New York City after being missing for years, in the hopes of reconnecting with his past and his family legacy. However, it may find a revival on another streaming service.

Of course, while out for the count at Netflix, the tale of billionaire Danny Rand and Colleen Wing may "live on", to quote Friday's statement, on other platforms.

Netflix may be putting all its eggs in the Marvel basket, but Marvel's Iron Fist is the exception to that rule. Can Iron Fist find success after Netflix?

Henry given first job as head coach by Monaco
Former Arsenal and FC Barcelona striker Thierry Henry has landed his first head coach role at one of France's biggest teams. He was sacked on Thursday after a string of poor results left Monaco in the relegation places.

Jones shared a statement about the end of Marvel's Iron Fist on Instagram, beginning by saying that "with every end is a new beginning". The latter series is expected to get picked up for a third season "any day now".

It's worth noting that the Deadline report indicates that the Iron Fist cast was only informed about this decision within the past few hours.

Until the fate of Iron Fist is officially revealed, fans can still catch both season one and two on Netflix.

Netflix have now announced that they have cancelled the show after just two series. Let us know in the comment section below!
