The goal of omitting hate crimes from Scotland is all well and good, particularly when police in Scotland say they saw over 110 hate crime incidents each week (according to the One Scotland website) past year alone.

Some individual police forces began treating "misogyny" and offending women as hate incidents back in 2016 and London's Metropolitan force revealed previous year they are considering following suit.

In the 2017/18 period evaluated by the UK Home Office using police data, 12% of all religious hate crime was directed at Jews in England and Wales, while the total number of Jews amounts to a mere 0.5% of all the total population.

In the year ending March 2018 there were 1,065 online hate crimes. More than three-quarters (76%) of those were classified as "race hate".

It can include verbal abuse, intimidation, threats, harassment, assault and bullying, as well as damage to property.

"The Jewish community will continue to work in solidarity with Muslims and people of all faiths". They also have categories of "no religion", "other" and "unknown".

The Law Commission will carry out a review to explore how to make current legislation more effective and consider if there should be additional "protected characteristics" to cover offences motivated by, or demonstrating, hatred based on sex and gender characteristics, or hatred of older people.

Findings from the separate Crime Survey for England and Wales, which tracks the public's experience of crime, suggest a drop of 40% in hate crime incidents in the past decade.

Responded Grandal when asked about the change: "They're losing confidence in me? Not really. Chris Taylor has quietly been one of the Dodgers' best hitters this postseason.

They also showed that the number of offenses recorded by police rose to an all-time high of 94,098 - 17% higher than last year and more than double the number five years ago.

Have you been a victim of religiously motivated hate crime? It provides some real depth to a complex and little understood phenomenon.

"Full recognition is given to the fact that individual incidents, which may appear minor in nature to some, are far more serious when part of a pattern of behaviour directed at members of a minority group".

The detailed monthly figures also confirm what experts have long said - that moments of tension such as the 2016 Brexit vote, terrorism incidents or global crises trigger short-term "spikes" in hate.

"The figures reveal that the most commonly targeted groups are Muslims and Jews", she added.

Curiously, police recorded 237 incidents where the perceived target religion was "no religion" at all.

While the number reported to and recorded by police has been rising to record levels, CPS figures from previous year showed the number being prosecuted successfully has, in fact, been falling.
