The Galaxy Book 2 is a Surface Pro 6 rival and this time comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 instead of Intel.

As its name suggests, this isn't Samsung's first foray into the 2-in-1 market. In fact, if you're a fan of machines that run Windows 10 on ARM, you should know that Samsung just launched such a 2-in-1 tablet, the brand new Galaxy Book 2.

Aside from the 850 platform, the rest of the core specifications include a 12-inch 2,160 x 1,440 Super AMOLED display alongside 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and dual USB-C ports. This, Samsung boasts, equips the "Always Connected" device with support for Gigabit LTE speed and up to 20 hours of battery life, nearly doubt that offered by the first-gen model. Samsung is also shipping the device with a keyboard and S Pen in the box. Notably, it also comes inbuilt with gigabit LTE connectivity thanks to the Snapdragon X20 LTE modem inside. Only 4GB of RAM is a bit suspect on a 2-in-1, especially considering some of today's flagship smartphones have twice as much memory.

The $999 Galaxy Book 2 has been announced for the United States only for now, but we expect it to come to the UK.

The triple lens cameras on the back come with a configuration of a 24MP standard lens, a 120-degrees wide-angle 8MP lens and a 5MP depth sensor. It will also go on sale online via ATT.com, Microsoft.com and Samsung.com starting November 2. According to Samsung, the Galaxy A7 is meant to make everyday convenient and extraordinary. "The Galaxy Book 2 brings together Samsung's hardware and connectivity leadership with innovations from Qualcomm Technologies and Microsoft for a two-in-one that uniquely delivers PC productivity and superior mobility".
