The 32-year-old bin Salman, the heir apparent in Saudi Arabia, has been under fire this week because of questions regarding his country's role in the disappearance of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Turkish officials have said that they believe Mr. Khashoggi was killed inside the mission and claims have been leaked to media that he was tortured and even dismembered.

"I don't think anyone should be surprised by the cynical and heartless reaction of the Trump regime to Khashoggi's assassination", Welch said in an interview with Press TV on Friday.

"If he makes a genuine contribution to the efforts to reveal what happened inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul that day, I will consider accepting his invitation", she wrote.

Trump made his comments during an Oval Office meeting with evangelical Christian pastor Andrew Brunson, who returned from Turkey where he had been jailed for almost two years.

Trump said he would meet with Khashoggi's family.

Mr Trump indicated earlier this week he was reluctant to pull out of a multi-billion-dollar USA weapons deal with the Saudis to show White House anger if the missing journalist was killed by the Saudis.

A White House aide said President Trump is serious when he says there'll be "severe punishment" if Saudi Arabia is found to be complicit in the disappearance. She tweeted on Sunday that she had been planning a surprise party for Khashoggi's 60th birthday, which was Saturday, but that her dream for the party was killed.

"Had I known it would be the last time I would see Jamal, I would have rather entered the Saudi consulate myself", she added.

According to reports, Nana Patekar , who is also a part of the film's acting line-up, has opted out of the film. In an official statement, Gandhi has also urged women to register complaints in cases of sexual harassment .

Senators from both sides of the aisle have called for an investigation into Khashoggi's disappearance, and some have suggested they would be willing to block the Saudi arms deal if more damaging details come to light.

Turkey has yet to publish any evidence of him being slain, though surveillance footage around the consulate shows a convoy of vehicles with diplomatic license plates leaving the Saudi Consulate for the consul's home in Istanbul a little under two hours after Khashoggi's arrival.

DIplomatic sources told the United Kingdom broadcaster on Sunday that both the US Treasury Secretary, Steve Mnuchin, and the UK's International Trade Secretary, Liam Fox, might not attend the Future Investment Initiative (FII), often referred to as 'Davos in the Desert, ' following reports of Khashoggi's murder after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on 2 October.

Turkish security units analysed how Khashoggi's reported killing unfolded with the use of a translator, according to Sabah.

She said investigators were examining his cellphones, which he had left with her.

Sanders has criticized United States support for the Saudi-led coalition's military effort in Yemen and pushed for a vote earlier this year along with Utah Republican Sen. Reports indicated he dined at producer Brian Grazer's Santa Monica home, attended an event at Rupert Murdoch's Bel-Air estate, and met with talent agency boss Ari Emanuel and Walt Disney Co.

A number of members of Congress have pressed the Trump administration to impose sanctions on the country in response to the Khashoggi affair.

In a joint statement on Sunday, the foreign ministers of Britain, France, and Germany said they were treating the matter with the "utmost seriousness" and called for a "credible investigation" into the journalist's disappearance, adding that anyone who bears responsibility should be held to account.

Later Mr Hunt said that whatever happened now was "absolutely up to Saudi Arabia".
