Winners and losers from Red Sox ALCS victory over the Astros

The Astros Were Robbed by the Red Sox and the Umps

Bregman deleted the videos, but apparently not before the people behind the Red Sox' official Twitter account took notice.

The former SC standout was named MVP of the ALCS after the Boston Red Sox defeated the Houston Astros, 4-1, on Thursday to win the best-of-seven series.

David Price, at last, looked like a postseason ace.

It may comes as a shock to some, but former closer Eric Gagne did pitch in a Red Sox uniform for a short time back in 2007.

Verlander had pitched 24 scoreless innings over his previous three starts with his team facing postseason elimination, and he came in 4-1 with a 1.21 ERA in five potential elimination games during his career. But the playoffs are all about matchups and Price has always matched up well with the Astros.

After Raphael Devers hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning, a young boy who caught the ball appeared on camera looking confused.

You know The Narrative, right? He got a standing ovation when he walked off the field in Fenway Park in game two. Not just for their performance Thursday, but because of their lack of production for him at Minute Maid Park all year. The ball was sinking fast and likely would have been at least a two-run single to tie the game.

LaLiga: Why Real Madrid are considering selling Kroos in January transfer
The pressure has been mounting on Lopetegui , who only took the job in the summer, after Real's worst goal drought since 1985. Real Madrid's Gareth Bale returned to full training on Thursday ahead of the weekend's crucial home game against Levante .

It made sense for Verlander to take the mound for Game 5, an elimination game for the Astros. Houston was shut out five times in Verlander's starts on its home field in 2018. It was left to right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, Boston's Game 3 starter, to secure the four outs that would get the game to Craig Kimbrel.

After Gonzales hit a solo home run in the seventh, the Astros put a run on board for Josh Reddick. The other is Steve Pearce, who had a big homer in Game 3.

Verlander is as close to ideal as it gets in the postseason, especially in elimination games, but he nearly had to be flawless for the Astros to win at home this season and he simply wasn't Thursday. After winning game one in Boston, the Astros lost four straight including the last three in Houston. This year's ALCS changed the script as the 28-year-old's bat ultimately carried this team with clutch hits to swing the series. This is nearly always true.

The Houston Astros fan now rooting hardest for his team to make the World Series? That has been true for eight of the last 11 as well.

Bradley, stuck in a slump for much of the season, batted just.200 and his three hits were the fewest for any position player to win MVP of a league championship series.

Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros couldn't soar into another World Series. They took the American League flag in 1904, but the World Series wasn't played that year.

"They beat us. We ran out of wins", Astros manager AJ Hinch said. It's plain and simple.
