76ers ‘Considering’ Markelle Fultz Trade, ‘Tired’ Of Saga

According to reports, the 76ers have sent Fultz to several shoulder doctors throughout the season, but none of them have been able to find anything that would stop him from making shots. "And they are no longer using his shoulder as an excuse for his performances", Pompey's report states.

Philadelphia Inquirer beat writer Keith Pompey on Sunday cited multiple sources indicating that the Sixers are contemplating trading Fultz.

To say Fultz has struggled since being drafted is a bit of an understatement.

Markelle Fultz has not requested a trade, but the Sixers are considering trading Fultz because the franchise is exhausted of this saga that began last season. He has been nursing a shoulder injury and saw a specialist last week, though sources with knowledge of Fultz's thinking told The Athletic he "would prefer a fresh start with a new team". And let's not forget the videos that circulated all of previous year displaying Fultz having altered his shooting mechanics.

Fultz missed 69 games during his rookie campaign due to an offseason shoulder injury and the resulting collapse of his shooting stroke and on-court confidence. "That would enable them to avoid paying the $9.7 million that Fultz is guaranteed for next season".

There were eight lead changes and four ties as Southern Illinois earned a split in their two Las Vegas games and Tulsa went 0-2. North Carolina now leads the all-time series 9-3 in a game between teams that have combined for 18 national championships.

As Pompey suggests, trading Fultz could be hard.

If the 76ers do elect to trade Fultz, it might be the best outcome for both sides. The team would have to hope another club still believes it can get Fultz to rediscover his upside. This has only exacerbated the problems Fultz has had with his shooting.

After a somewhat solid start to the season, Fultz has seemingly regressed recently, and his form hit an all-time low last Monday night, as he pump-faked a free throw against the Miami Heat. The team is 13-8 in its first 21 games.

Markelle Fultz was inactive in a Wednesday game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
