Although Tamagotchis have faded since the height of their popularity, they retained a devout following. Children flocked to the virtual pets as if they were real, saving their parents thousands of dollars in the process.

But the most fun game of our childhood was definitely Pokemon. You could play the game on whatever console you had for hours on end, and chances are if you weren't playing the actual game, you were collecting the cards.

The Eevee Tamagotchi, which first started to appear on imageboards earlier in November 2018, has a release date and pricing information.

Bandai confirmed the Eevee Tamagotchi is actually a thing and is coming out in the new year in Japan, as spotted on the Tamagotchi website via NintendoSoup on Tuesday.

Next, you'll have to answer a few questions to narrow down your selection by cuisine, or simply by the name of the restaurant. However, this version isn't limited to businesses which have partnered with Google as it was in the previous testing.

The Eeveegotchi (still not official, but still great) will be available in two designs, and is scheduled to release in Japan on the 26th of January 2019.

Depending on how owners care for it, Eevee has the potential to evolve into one of eight forms - Espeon, Umbreon, Sylveon, Vaporeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Leafeon, and Glaceon.

The Eevee Tamagotchi will come in two color variations "I Love You Eevee" (golden yellow with and image of Eevee) or "Color Friends" (pink with silhouettes of Eevee evolutions around the curves).
