Marvel's Agents of SHIELD TV show on ABC season 7 renewal

Announced by Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment, season seven will follow an abbreviated sixth season that will run for 13 episodes, instead of the 22-episode run that all previous five seasons have had.

The trade magazine theorized that the renewal has happened now in order that the network can pick up the cast options, which are in the offing. It also allows for the sixth and seventh seasons to potentially be filmed back-to-back, which would reduce costs.

Of season six, she said: 'We don't plan it as a final season. It does incredibly well in delayed viewing'. But it seems that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has a pretty strong - well - shield around it.

But for every heartbreaking story to come out of this disaster, there's another uplifting story of heroism or bravery. As of Tuesday morning, November 13th, the fire is only 30 percent contained and there are over 200 people missing.

The Avengers director Joss Whedon and his brother Jed Whedon co-created the show with Maurissa Tancharoen, who is married to Jed.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso "Mack" MacKenzie and Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena "Yo-Yo" Rodriguez.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 averaged just over 2 million total viewers and a 0.5 rating, besting in the demo only Once Upon a Time, Quantico and Ten Days in the Valley among ABC dramas last season.
