Aerosmith's Joe Perry rushed to hospital after 'collapsing' at concert

The Aerosmith guitarist - who joined Joel onstage to perform one of his band's biggest hits, "Walk This Way", at Madison Square Garden - reportedly collapsed backstage after his cameo, according to TMZ.

Joe Perry was wheeled out of Madison Square Garden on a stretcher Saturday night after performing with Billy Joel.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and, per TMZ, reportedly worked on Perry for more than 40 minutes in his dressing room before eventually taking him to the hospital. "This morning Perry remains in the hospital where he is alert and responsive".

It has since been alleged that Joe has had "breathing issues for the last few weeks" related to congestion; it is thought that he is now "awake and doing well" and is hoping to be released in a few hours.

The asteroids - the biggest of which is predicted to measure up to 30 metres across - will whizz past our planet on November 10. Racing through speeds of around 6.06km per second, Asteroid VX1 is approximately somewhere between 25.9ft and 59ft in diameter.

We're told Billy Joel was still on stage in the final minutes of his concert and was unaware of the emergency.

Perry's condition was not immediately known. The Aerosmith guitarist will be unable to appear today at Rock And Roll Fantasy Camp in Florida and apologises to those attending. "Perry is expected to return to the road later this month".

Joel posted a photo of himself with Perry just before the show on Instagram with the caption "Billy with tonight's special guest Joe Perry!" just before the concert at Madison Square Garden.
