France Football report that he has been in negotiations with Milan for weeks, and an agreement has almost been reached to replace Gennaro Gattuso as coach.

The 69-year-old has not been short of offers since leaving Arsenal at the end of last season and has admitted that he will accept a new job within the next few months.

The report also claims that Paris Saint-Germain have intensified their effort to land Wenger as their new general manager, although the Frenchman's arrival hinges on whether their sporting director Antero Henrique will leave.

The Rossoneri have recently been taken over by the USA investment fund Elliot Management Corporation and the early season form of the club this term has not lived up to the expectations of those in power at the fund and they want to replace Gennaro Gattuso according to these reports.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Wenger stated he expects to be back working in football by early 2019.

He oversaw a sixth-place finish in Serie A last term, and after 11 matches of 2018-19, Milan sit fourth.
