Brexit: What lies ahead for the PM and her deal?

Treasury won't tell us costs of Theresa May's Brexit

Mrs May will face the Commons after European Union leaders endorsed the deal at a summit on Sunday, and made it clear it was not up for renegotiation.

Addressing the Commons the day after returning from Brussels, Mrs May said: "I can say to the House with absolute certainty that there is not a better deal available".

Prime Minister Theresa May has warned MPs that voting against her Brexit deal will take Britain "back to Square one", according to a pre-written Commons speech to be delivered on Monday.

Asked what he made of the agreement by a reporter outside of the White.

Approved by the European Union on Sunday, the withdrawal agreement sets out the terms of the UK's exit from the European Union, including its £39bn "divorce bill", citizens' rights and the Northern Ireland "backstop" - a way to keep the Irish border open, if trade talks stall.

If Mrs May's divorce deal is passed by Parliament, next comes the long process of agreeing on how the United Kingdom will trade with the bloc in the future.

Committee chairman Nicky Morgan said the analysis would provide Parliament with a "full and frank assessment" of the deal, and confirmed the cross-party panel would write to all MPs about the evidence it receives ahead of the "meaningful vote", which is expected in the week of December 10.

Next, May will take the pact to British Parliament for a vote.

GM reportedly closing all Oshawa, Ont. operations
In the 1980s, the facility employed as many as 40,000 people assembling and engineering cars for the United States and Canada. According to the company's website, the Oshawa Assembly Plant employs 2,522 workers with Unifor Local 222.

Mrs May said the deal would deliver on jobs, but queried Mr Corbyn's commitment to a deal.

Opposition Labour Party chief Jeremy Corbyn called the withdrawal deal and accompanying political declaration on future relations "an act of national self-harm". "The number of MPs that there are is well understood", a Downing Street spokesman said, while insisting that May was confident of winning the vote.

Chancellor Philip Hammond has said the deal is better than staying in the EU.

European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker warned that there would be no more negotiation if MPs vote down the agreement, telling the BBC: "This is the best deal for Britain. and this is the only deal possible, so if the House says no, we would have no deal".

The study commissioned by the People's Vote, which wants a second referendum, said GDP would shrink by 3.9% annually.

She praised the deal struck "in an extremely hard situation, in a situation without any precedence because we haven't had it before that a European country leaves the EU".

Former Labour Business minister and ex-shadow Europe minister Pat McFadden said: "This report shows that the reality of this deal will leave Britain tens of billions of pounds poorer than if we stuck with the deal we've got - inside the EU". I don't think there is anything more now. If they fail to do so that could mean the imposition of the backstop to ensure no disruption to the Irish border.
