CNN said Acosta was given no warning of the action, and no recourse to appeal it. Acosta traveled to Paris to cover Trump's visit there this weekend and, although given permission by the French government to cover a news event, the Secret Service denied him entrance, the company said.

CNN and Jim Acosta are allegedly suing the Trump administration for removing the press credentials of the controversial reporter following a tense incident Wednesday during a news conference at the White House.

As Jost begins to report on the White House suspending Acosta's press credentials, the aide, played by Cecily Strong, walks on set and begins nervously shuffling back and forth and pointing to Jost while looking at someone off camera.

CNN may be prepping a lawsuit against the White House after they suspended reporter Jim Acosta's press pass, according to Sam Donaldson.

"Without this credential, a daily White House correspondent like Acosta effectively can not do his job", CNN's lawsuit said. CNN claims the revocation of Acosta's press pass violates the constitutional rights to freedom on the press and due process.

The President called the reporter "a rude, bad person" as he refused to answer his questions, and an intern tried to take Acosta's microphone away.

Intelligence agencies investigating motives of Bourke Street attacker, says Dutton
Hassan Khalif Shire Ali (pictured), who carried out the lone attack on Friday afternoon on Bourke St which shocked the nation, was known to ASIO officials.

She said his press credentials were revoked because the White House will "never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern".

"The White House can not run an orderly and fair press conference when a reporter acts this way, which is neither appropriate nor professional", Sanders said.

Ms Sanders said Acosta's behaviour was "absolutely unacceptable" and that CNN supporting him was "disgusting".

Late night TV hosts Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel both said Ms Sanders should be fired.

Stelter then asked if they should sue, and Abrams said yes. President Trump has given the press more access than any President in history.

"You should be ashamed of yourself", Mr. Trump said.
