Are Coldplay about to release music under new name Los Unidades?

Pharrell Williams, David Guetta and African star Wizkid are among the artists contributing new music to Global Citizen EP 1, a four-track collection being released by the worldwide advocacy organization Global Citizen, in partnership with Warner Music Group's United Kingdom -based Parlophone and US -headquartered Atlantic.

At first glance, it seems like an unknown band called Los Unidades somehow managed to score a collaboration with Pharrell.

Priyanka-Nick wedding: Sophie Turner, Alia Bhatt join pre-celebrations
The following day, Nick and Priyanka will take their vows, and a Christian ceremony will take place on 3 December. Adding it with the stay at Umaid Bhawan Palace, the total expenditure would stand around Rs 4 crores.

Let's back up: Yesterday, Coldplay's United Kingdom label Parlophone announced Los Unidades as a new signing along with a picture of four men in silhouette. Los Unidades have two other collaborative tracks on the EP as well. The four piece band even liked the label's tweet, forcing fans to wonder even more about the identity of the mysterious Los Unidades. That's definitely Martin singing on "E-Lo", and as Pitchfork points out, TIDAL lists the four members of Coldplay (Martin plus Will Champion, Jonny Buckland, and Guy Berryman) in the credits. Taking place December 2nd in Johannesburg, South Africa, the event will feature performances by Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Eddie Vedder, Pharrell & Martin, User, Ed Sheeran, Femi Kuti, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and more. Not really playing along with the "mystery", Jozzy!

Coldplay's last record arrived in 2015 with A Head Full of Dreams. Still, it could easily just be a one-time stunt related to Mandela 100. The surprise move comes in coordination with Global Citizen, with whom the group is releasing Global Citizen - EP 1 this Friday. It features three tracks led by Los Unidades alongside artists like Stormzy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Dave Guetta, Cassper Nyovest, and Stargate, who also have a song of their own on the effort.
