SNL's Pete Davidson made fun of the appearance of Dan Crenshaw whose eye was destroyed by an IED while serving in Afghanistan

Pete Davidson is in hot water for some comments he made on "Saturday Night Live" about Dan Crenshaw, a Texas Republican running for Congress who lost an eye while serving in the US military.

Comedian Pete Davidson was giving his "first impressions" of some candidates ahead of Tuesday's midterm elections during the show's "Weekend Update".

"I'm sorry, I know he lost his eye in war, or whatever", he continued, laughing. The guy did three combat tours as a Navy SEAL. Surgeries restored sight in his left eye.

During a bit on Republicans running for Congress, Davidson joked that Dan Crenshaw looks like he belongs in a porno. He recovered and ultimately deployed twice more. "That being said, I hope @nbcsnl recognizes that vets don't deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes".

The NRCC also quickly issued a blistering statement about Davidson and the Saturday Night Live program.

Suspect arrested for scrawling 'Kill all Jews' in synagogue
Police arrested a suspected arsonist in the setting of fires and writing anti-Semitic graffiti in Brooklyn, New York . According to police, the culprit also drew the Puerto Rican flag and wrote 'Free PR'.

"Getting dumped by your pop star girlfriend is no excuse for lashing out at a decorated war hero who lost his eye serving our country", Pandol said, referring to Davidson's recent breakup with singer Ariana Grande.

During the "Weekend Update" portion of the NBC program, cast member Pete Davidson began a segment discussing Texas Republican congressional candidate Dan Crenshaw, who he sarcastically described as "pretty cool" as a picture of Crenshaw flashed on the screen.

President Trump was sharply criticized in 2015 for dismissively saying former Sen. John McCain, tweeted that the segment was tone deaf.

One person who's not outraged is Dan, who tells us he wants society to get away from the culture of apology-demanding every time someone misspeaks.
