Deadwood

Now, a desire to give the show a worthy sendoff has coalesced into an HBO film which recently began production, according to Hollywood trade publications. Most of that original cast is returning for the film, which takes place 10 years after the events of the series that ran three seasons from 2004-2006.

Now, with creator David Milch providing the typically verbal and profanity-laden script and veteran Deadwood director Daniel Minahan marshalling the violent, chatty milieu, the film will see characters from the frontier town reunited after ten years to celebrate South Dakota's statehood.

Nadal out of ATP Finals with abdominal injury, ankle surgery
Rafael Nadal is to undergo ankle surgery after revealing he is out of the ATP Finals in London because of injury. The 22-year-old beat Djokovic 7-5 6-4 in one hour and 37 minutes to end the Serb's 22-match unbeaten run.

Joining them is newcomer is Jude Pettyjohn, who is playing a character named Caroline. Rivalries will be reignited and alliances will be tested as the town's residents are forced to deal with the quickly changing times. Milch, Carolyn Strauss, Minahan, Gregg Fienberg, Scott Stephens, McShane and Olyphant are executive producers. The story of a Dakotan boomtown in the 1870s, struggling to build an economy and government alike in a territory run by lawlessness, Deadwood boasted as immersive a world as any big-budget prestige series has managed to date.

As production gets underway in Los Angeles, HBO has announced that Ian McShane, Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker and Paula Malcomson will reprise their respective roles as Al Swearengen, Seth Bullock, Alma Ellsworth and Trixie, while John Hawkes, Anna Gunn, Dayton Callie and Brad Dourif will be back as Sol Star, Martha Bullock, Charlie Utter and Doc Cochran. The hardest part of getting the film up and running had been synching up the schedules of its large ensemble cast.
