Solicitor General Noel Francisco said the administration carefully thought out its policy and has decided that limits on transgender troops are in the best interests of national security and the courts should defer to that judgment.

Last year, Trump said on Twitter, the military "cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail".

The DOJ asked the nation's highest court to take up three cases on the matter, The Associated Press reported - an unusual mov, e as the Supreme Court doesn't normally hear cases ahead of federal appeals courts' decisions on them.

A federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., had been scheduled to hear the issue next month.

The administration has since limited the policy to transgender individuals with a history of gender dysphoria.

Only Manchester City and Liverpool Guaranteed Top Four - Maurizio Sarri
But he has trained fully this week and Blues boss Maurizio Sarri believes Kovacic is fit enough for this weekend's game. So it's not a tactical or physical problem. "They play very good football". "They are a technical team".

The US government is appealing those decisions.

A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments in one of the cases in October but hasn't ruled.

On Friday, the Trump administration filed petitions to the Supreme Court asking for its "immediate review" of the constitutional challenges to the ban. It also specifies that individuals without the condition can serve but only if they do so according to the sex they were assigned at birth.

He writes because of the injunctions, "the military has been forced to maintain that prior policy for almost a year" despite a determination by Mattis and a panel of experts that the "prior policy, adopted by (Defense Secretary Ash Carter), posed too great a risk to military effectiveness and lethality".
