Oilers deal Ryan Strome to Rangers for Ryan Spooner

It's Ryan S. for Ryan S. And if that's the nameplate the Edmonton Oilers used above Ryan Strome's spot in the locker-room before Friday afternoon's trade, then they don't even have to change it.

He has 46 goals and 114 assists in 289 games with Boston and NY.

He has 59 goals and 103 assists in 358 career National Hockey League games with the Islanders and Oilers. Strome was the fifth overall pick of the 2011 draft by the Islanders.

Spooner had a goal and an assist in 16 games this season with the Rangers.

New team tournament ATP Cup wins Djokovic’s approval
Teams from 24 countries will feature in the ATP Cup, which will be held at the start of the season across 10 days in Australia . The tournament is a recreation of the old ATP World Team Cup, which ended in 2012 after 35 years.

Throughout his six-year career with the Oilers and New York Islanders, Strome has racked up 59 goals and 103 assists in 358 games. The move to the Rangers could lead to more ice time for Strome, who was saddled in as the Oilers' third-line centre behind Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid.

Ryan Strome is coming back to NY, but he'll be wearing a different blue this time around. "I think he feels like, and we feel like, maybe there's a little bit more that he can still get to the level we're all hoping he can get to". The deal marks the second trade in nine months for Spooner. He was acquired from Boston last February.

He had seven points in his first three games and two goals and 13 points in his first eight.
