Tuesday is election day. Get the lowdown on what you need to do to make your vote count. Polls will be open across the state throughout the day.

In Cape Elizabeth, a line of voters stretched from the high school gym through the hallways and out into the parking lot by 6:30 am., 30 minutes before the polls opened.

Election Day voters will use paper ballots.

If you run into any problems at your polling place on Election Day, keep in mind that California's laws generally favor voters.

In California, a record 19.6 million people are registered to vote, reported Secretary of State Alex Padilla. Common forms of ID include a driver's license, a US passport, a concealed carry permit, or a student ID from an accredited post-secondary institution in Kansas.
