Security video shows one of the crocodiles biting Brandon Keith Hatfield on the leg. Hatfield told officers he had been bitten by an alligator.

A Florida man broke into an animal farm, jumped into a pool with a trio of 12-foot crocodiles, suffered a bite, escaped, and was arrested after being spotted at dawn crawling in his underwear across an area resident's lawn, according to authorities in St. Augustine.

Hatfield caused about $5,000 in damage, authorities said.

The man had to pull himself over fencing and barbed wire to get to the pond.

Cops were called to the scene - and said a man with bleeding bite wounds had been found in his boxer shorts nearby. Then came a call from the Alligator Farm reporting some serious vandalism, she said. "In our 125-year history, this is the first time anyone has tried to go swimming with the crocodiles". He was taken to Flagler Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

An officer reportedly told staff, "Oh, I think we've already got the perpetrator in custody".

Try saying this five times fast: A guy wearing Crocs jumped into the crocodile pond at an alligator farm. Placed under arrest, he was returned to the hospital for surgery to his foot and a possible broken ankle from jumping off a roof at the Alligator Farm, the report said.
