Fox and NBC to Stop Airing Trump Immigrant Ad Deemed Racist

NBC says that "after further review", it will stop airing President Donald Trump's campaign advertisement that featured an immigrant accused of murder. It blames Democrats for allowing him into the country.

But the video remains posted, for example, on a Facebook page for the campaign manager for Trump's 2020 reelection campaign and has since been shared on Trump's official Facebook page.

On Facebook, the ad targeted voters in midterm battleground states Florida and Arizona ahead of the USA midterm elections on Tuesday, according to the social network's ad archive. The ad drew a comparison between Bracamontes and the thousands of migrants who are now fleeing Central America and making their way to the United States-Mexico border (aka the "caravan").

So it's obvious why, from a breadth-of-reach perspective, the ad aired on Sunday night.

The ad, which cost $670,000 to air during Sunday Night Football, is a slightly edited version of a video that Trump himself tweeted on October 31, which had a more explicit anti-Democrat sentiment.

The wording of this announcement means that the ad would also not appear on NBC's cable channels like CNBC or MSNBC.

Petrol Price Cut Again, Total Reduction Reaches Rs 4.05 In 18 Days
A litre of petrol costs Rs 78.56 in Delhi, Rs 84.06 in Mumbai, Rs 81.61 in Chennai, Rs 79.19 in Bengaluru and Rs 80.47 in Kolkata. As the global oil prices continued to rise, price of petrol and diesel in Delhi increased to ₹82.83 and ₹75.69 on October 17.

NBC said Monday that in its further review, it recognizes the insensitive nature of the ad.

Fox's decision follows NBC saying earlier Monday that it had erred in running the ad.

Facebook is removing this Trump campaign ad for violating its rules against sensational content.

CNN rejected the same ad, declaring it racist. When presented with an opportunity to be paid to take a version of this ad, we declined.

The tweet ended with an emoji of an apple, an apparent reference to CNN's own ad campaign where it compares inaccurate news coverage to someone insisting that a banana is an apple.

The president's son, Donald Trump Jr., tweeted over the weekend, noting CNN's refusal to air the advertisement, saying, "I guess they only run fake news and won't talk about real threats that don't suit their agenda".
