Only kidding, we're firmly of the opinion that the star of The Wire and Luther has always been one of the coolest people alive and he now has the sexified accolade to show just how much sexy sex he sexes.

The British actor and star of The Wire, Luther and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom was revealed as this year's victor on Monday's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

He explained: 'I was like, "Come on, no way". Really?' I looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, "Yeah, you are kind of sexy today". "It was a nice surprise - an ego boost for sure", Idris told People in his cover story.

Last year American country singer Blake Shelton took the title.

Elba appears on the cover of a special double issue of People that arrives on newsstands on Friday. Idris said on Instagram, seemingly oblivious to his own (very obvious) sexiness. "And my name was Idrissa Akuna Elba, OK?"

Blizzard Pulled Diablo 4 Announcement From BlizzCon
The reveal of a mobile game rather than a full-on Diablo 4 led to a " huge backlash " at what is traditionally a two-day celebration of all things Blizzard.

Though he was an athlete at his all-boys school in London, playing first-string football, basketball, cricket, hockey and rugby, the actor insists he went through an awkward phase first.

On Twitter, the star said: "Who'd have thought it!" I got picked on a little bit, ' he continued to the publication.

From George Clooney to Harrison Ford, People's Sexiest Man Alive list has been showcasing the finest men on earth since 1985. "Grew a mustache, had some muscles, bonkers".

The British actor will soon be off the market as he is planning his wedding to fiancée Sabrina Dhowre, 29, who famously accompanied him to the Royal Wedding back in May.

'Life isn't about thinking about what you should have done, ' explained Idris. "I think everyone should adopt the philosophy that tomorrow is not promised so just go for it today, man".
