Impressive England earn record sixth straight win over Wallabies

England went 14 points clear not long after with winger Joe Cokanasinga getting in on the try scoring action.

Farrell, who came off the bench at half-time to inspire England to victory against Japan, started at fly-half.

By the time Israel Folau scored his and Australia's second try in stoppage time it was too little too late for the tourists.

Joe Cokanasiga breaks through but was denied a second try by a Michael Hooper tackle. Just shy of the half-hour mark Australia finally started to keep the ball in hand and attacked right, with Dane Haylett-Petty coming in off his wing and throwing a wide pass to Samu Kerevi.

Australia announced on Friday that senior backs Kurtley Beale and Adam Ashley-Cooper had been dropped as a disciplinary measure for inviting women into their hotel room following a 9-6 defeat by Wales in Cardiff a fortnight ago.

Farrell's penalty made it 13-3.

After a promising first half, the Wallabies had managed to level scores at 13 apiece, but many fans attention was drawn by an incident that happened with nearly the last play of the game.

Wallabies head coach Michael Cheika will now face more scrutiny of his position, with Australia recording fewer than five wins in a calendar year for the first time since 1995. Australia were awarded a penalty which Cheika complained afterwards should have been at least a penalty try that would have put his side 17-13 ahead at the break. Against Australia, he was penalized, hitting lock Izack Rodda just as Rodda was about to go over the line for a try.

US Soldier Dies in Afghanistan
Brent Taylor of the Army National Guard was killed during an insider attack in Kabul that also injured another USA servicemember. Taylor, a father of seven, was on his fourth deployment and a second tour of Afghanistan.

A second-row with a weight advantage of more than four stone and forward momentum clattered into an outside-half only to collapse in a heap.

The legality of Farrell's challenge should not have been an issue: Rodda should have powered his way through it, but his desire was nothing compared with the England captain's; there is a flimsiness about the Wallabies that is not characteristic of a side coached by Cheika.

"We had a tough Six Nations, got some things wrong but we took steps forward in South Africa in terms of the togetherness of the team, how we want to go forward", he said of the June tour where England lost 2-1.

To add insult to injury, three minutes after the restart Farrell set up Elliot Daly for a long-range try. But two Israel Folau tries saw the visitors make a good fight of it, only to be blown away in the second half.

But the hosts had only two Farrell penalties to show for their superiority following May's try.

"It is not about playing Australia it is about us getting better as a team", he said.

England's next match is against Ireland in Dublin.
