Jerome Corsi: rightwing author pursuing plea deal with Robert Mueller

Jerome Corsi, a conservative write and ally of Donald Trump associate Roger Stone, is in talks with special counsel Robert Mueller, the Washington Post reports.

Whatever deal arises between Cosri and the Mueller team could certainly help shed even further light on whether anyone working on Trump's 2016 campaign coordinated with WikiLeaks in the 2016 hack on Democratic National Committee emails, according to the Post.

Corsi was subpoenaed by Robert Mueller's office back in September as the investigation continued, with Stone reportedly under particular scrutiny.

This story is developing.

I MAY Go to the White House Correspondents' Dinner Now
Wolf slammed the White House Correspondents Association on Monday for choosing Chernow instead of another comic in her own mold. Notoriously thin-skinned Donald Trump , who skipped out on last year's roasting, responded by teasing he may attend this time.

Last week, Corsi said on a YouTube video that he expected to be charged with lying to federal investigators after plea talks with the special prosecutor's office broke down. American intelligence agencies have assessed that Russian Federation was the source of hacked material released by WikiLeaks during the 2016 election that damaged Hillary Clinton's campaign. The potential charges could be related to false statements he made about his relationship with WikiLeaks and Stone.

Corsi, the former Washington bureau chief of the conspiracy theory outlet InfoWars, cooperated with the probe for about two months, turning over two computers and a cell phone and providing the FBI access to his email accounts and tweets.

The spokesman for the special counsel, Peter Carr, declined comment on Friday.

Among the issues the special counsel has been looking into is whether Stone knew in advance that WikiLeaks would publish Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta's hacked emails.
