JUST IN: Buhari to receive Prince Charles today

President Muhammadu Buhari has gone into a closed-door meeting with the Prince of Wales, Charles and his wife, Princess Camilla.

Britain's Prince Charles spoke out strongly against modern slavery at a conference in Ghana, once the embarkation point for many Africans traded as slaves.

Britain abolished the trans-Atlantic slave trade in 1807; although the full abolition of slavery arrived a generation after.

On the third day of his visit to the west African country where many slaves were sent to the Americas, Prince Charles gave a public lecture.

Prince Charles will be addressing Nigeria's herdsmen crisis and strengthening relations between United Kingdom and Africa's most populous nation. During their visit, Their Royal Highnesses will undertake a series of engagements in Abuja and Lagos where they will have the opportunity to interact with a cross-section of Nigerians from Traditional Leaders to those in business, the arts, fashion, the armed forces and the charitable sector.

The letter was acquired from Erika by a British Royal collector who has now consigned it for sale with American-based Julien's Auctions.

In a busy day of engagements, the Prince also visited Kumasi market, where he saw a new building, partly funded by the United Kingdom, which will replace an expansive market of make-shift stalls where evil are fires put the lives of traders, and its one million daily shoppers, at risk.
