Kemba Walker scores 60, but Hornets lose to Sixers in OT

Jimmy Butler hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer in overtime Saturday night, allowing the Philadelphia 76ers to overcome a 60-point explosion by Kemba Walker for a 122-119 victory over the host Charlotte Hornets.

Philadelphia did, in fact, bring in Butler to make plays in crunch time.

Walker's 60 points were the most in the National Basketball Association this season, topping Klay Thompson's 52 against Chicago on October 29.

After recent blips, Simmons was back to his best on Sunday as he capped off his near triple-double performance with a thundering, rim-shaking put-back dunk off a Butler three point attempt.

Ministers Want Police Officer Who Shot Security Guard Jemel Roberson Fired
During one of Roberson's shifts last weekend, a gunman started shooting up Manny's Blue Room, a bar in suburban Chicago. Per standard policy, the officer is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the state police investigation.

Walker's 60 points came on 21-for-34 shooting overall and 6-for-14 on 3-pointers. This time he was making everything, including banking in a 3-pointer to give the Hornets the lead with 44 seconds left in regulation. Joel Embiid poured in 33 points with 11 rebounds while Ben Simmons (23 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists) and JJ Redick (23 points) also had strong showings. Walker held up his palms after the ball went it, similar to that famous gesture by Hornets owner Michael Jordan many years ago with the Bulls.

Philly's newest addition finished with 15 points, four assists, three rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. He added another two in overtime.

Walker and the Hornets played hosts to the Philadelphia 76ers, giving us a back-and-forth game that required overtime.

The Hornets next face the Boston Celtics on Monday at 7 p.m. ET.
